About the migration procedure
Migration procedure

Keio mail users are requested to perform the migration procedure.
* People who are not Keio mail users do not have to perform the migration procedure, but the following people must perform this procedure.-
People who transfer email received by Keio mail to another email address.
Example: transferring email received by a Keio mail address (example: keio-taro@a2.keio.jp) to another email address (example: keiotaro@itc.keio.ac.jp). -
People who transfer another email address to Keio mail
Example: transferring email received by another email address (example: keiotaro@itc.keio.ac.jp) to a Keio mail address (example: keio-taro@a2.keio.jp). -
People who do not use email service, but who use a mailing list* (only an administrator or sub-administrator who uses it), address book, calendar or Web file
: The address of the mailing list is “@ml.keio.jp”. (example: test@ml.keio.jp)

People who transfer email received by Keio mail to another email address.

The following are the steps in the migration procedure.

Confirm the migration procedure that you must perform.
You can confirm the required migration procedure by checking the following (this check will be completed in approximately 10 minutes.)

Confirm the migration procedure that you must perform.

Please perform the migration procedure between the time the next version of Keio mail service begins and the current email system ends.
* (Carry out the migration procedure between November 11, 2014 and March 2, 2015. From March 3, 2015, you will be unable to use the current system and no longer able to perform the migration procedure.)-
We recommend that you perform the migration procedure as early as possible.
(The later the migration procedure is performed, the larger the quantity of information that will migrate, possibly increasing the number of migration procedure steps and time. The following are the major contents that will expand.)-
Email received between about September until performance of the
migration procedure will not be sorted into folders by the new system.
… You will have to sort email on the new system yourself, but the later the migration period, the larger the quantity of email to be sorted. -
Read and unread information on the current system will not be reflected
in the new system between about September until performance of the
migration procedure.
… If you want to also reflect read and unread information in the new system, you will have to perform the migration procedure yourself on the new system, but it is possible that the later the migration period, the larger the number of necessary migration procedure steps.

About data migration

Existing mail or folders on the server
- These will migrate automatically to the new system. Email will not be lost.
- But the migration, read/unread state, or sorting to folders of high volume mail or email with attached files may not be reflected. In such cases, users will have to perform the migration procedures themselves.

Various setting information on the server

Various setting information* will not automatically migrate to the new system, so the users will have to perform the migration procedures themselves.
: Various setting information includes individual environment and information settings, email transfer settings, message rejection settings, automatic email sorting settings, and POP3 settings on the old system.

Address books, calendars, and Web file information on the server
- Because it will not automatically migrate to the new system, the users will have to perform the migration procedures themselves.

- Functions will migrate to Groups of Goggle Apps for Education
- Use of the email addresses on the mailing list now in operation (example: keio-seminar@ml.keio.jp) can continue after system migration.
