Temporary Suspension of Off-Campus Access to the Linux Remote Environment

Dear Users of the Linux Remote Environment,
We would like to inform you that the off-campus remote access service to the Linux environment provided by the Science and Technology Information Technology Center (ITC) will be temporarily suspended.
As has been frequently reported in the media, security incidents have been occurring at many universities and private organizations. In light of the current threat landscape, and to evaluate and strengthen the security of this service, which is currently accessible using only a user ID and password, we will temporarily suspend external access to the service from 6:00 PM on October 16, 2026.
Please note that access from within the Keio University network, including all campuses, will remain available.
We would appreciate it if you could share this information with students belonging to your laboratory as well.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Information regarding the resumption of the service will be announced as soon as the necessary preparations have been completed.
