Notice Regarding the Termination of MATLAB Concurrent Licenses
Due to a change in the operation policy by MathWorks, the developer of MATLAB, the operation of "MATLAB Concurrent Licenses (License Server Method)" will terminate at the end of FY2026 (end of March 2027).
If you are currently using MATLAB with a "Concurrent License," please transition to an "Individual License" for continued use.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and kindly request that you review the schedule and overview below to proceed with the transition process.
Overview of Changes
- License type ending: MATLAB Concurrent License (License Server Method)
- License type continuing: MATLAB Individual License (keio.jp Authentication Method)
If you are currently using an Individual License, you can continue using it in the next academic year and beyond by submitting a renewal application.
Upcoming Schedule
- January 2027: Release of the license transition manual (Tentative)
- January 2027 – March 2027: Transition preparation period for Individual Licenses
- March 31, 2027: End of Concurrent License
- From April 1, 2027: Only individual licenses will be valid, and applications for continued use by current individual license holders will begin..
Transition Procedures and Manual
The "License Transition Manual," which outlines the specific steps to switch from a Concurrent License to an Individual License, is currently under preparation and verification. As soon as it is ready, we will post an announcement on this Information Technology Center website.
