(A1) Please refer to Notes on using Keio Mail or
Using Keio Mail with POP3/IMAP4 in
this User's Guide.
(Q2) How large is the storage capacity of the email spool?
(A2) This is described in Notes on using Keio Mail.
If the maximum capacity is reached, you cannot receive email messages or move folders. We recommend that you to delete unnecessary messages regularly.
Alternatively, you can move important email messages to your PC using POP3/IMAP protocols.
For more details, refer to Using Keio Mail with POP3/IMAP4 in this User's Guide.
(Q3) Can I use Keio Mail with POP3 protocol? I want to retrieve messages with my email client and store them on my PC instead of using Keio Mail as a Web mail system.
(A3) Yes, you can. For more details, refer to Using Keio Mail with POP3/IMAP4 in
this User's Guide.
(Q4) Can I use IMAP protocol with Keio Mail?
(A4) Keio Mail supports IMAP protocol (as of the renewal in October 2007).
For more details, refer to Using Keio Mail with POP3/IMAP4 protocols in the
User's Guide.
(Q5) I don't know how to use Keio Mail with POP3 and IMAP protocols.
(A5) Refer to Using Keio Mail with POP3/IMAP4 in
this User's Guide.
(Q6) Can I access Keio Mail from a mobile device, such as a mobile phone?
(A6) Yes, you can, except there are some functional restrictions. For more details, refer to [Options] > [Personal Information Settings] in the Keio Mail Online Help.
Please note, however, that we have not confirmed compatibility with all mobile devices.

(Q7) How can I access Keio Mail from a mobile device, such as a mobile phone?
(A7) For details, refer to [Options] > [Personal Information Settings] in the Keio Mail Online Help.
Please note, however, that we have not confirmed compatibility with all mobile devices.
Keio Mail uses SSL for communication. You cannot use Keio Mail with devices that do not support SSL.
(Q8) How do I use Web mail?
(A8) There are two ways to log into Keio Mail.
a. Log into the Keio Single Sign-On System and select "Keio Mail" as an application.
b. Log in directly on the login window of Keio Mail.
You can use the same functionality, regardless of which way you log in.
(Q9) Why does Keio Mail only support POP3s, IMAPs and SMTPs protocols (protocols with SSL)?
(A9) Your keio.jp (Keio Single Sign-On System) password is also the password you use for Keio Mail. If your password is compromised, some other applications that use keio.jp might also be without authorization. To prevent this, the available protocols are limited to POP3s, IMAP4s and SMTPs, under which communication is encrypted.
(Q10) Can I forward messages to other email addresses?
(A10) Refer to Keio Mail Online Help.
If you want to forward messages to your mobile phone's email address, you might find it convenient to use the "mobile use" function. If you do not have to store messages on your mobile device, we recommend that you use this function.
For more details, refer to [Options] > [Personal Information Settings] in the Online Help.
(Q11) What is the difference between "forward to mobile" and "mobile use"?
(A11) Using the "forward to a mobile"function, received email messages are simply forwarded to your mobile phone.
On the other hand, with the "mobile use"function, you can access Keio Mail through a simplified Web mail server by navigating with the Web browser on your mobile phone. You can view, delete, move, create and reply to email messages from your mobile device just as you would from a PC. If you delete or move email messages from your mobile device, the actions will be applied to the actual messages in the mailbox so that consistency is maintained for the next time you access your account from a PC. Unless you have a special reason to forward copies of email messages to your mobile phone, we recommend that you use "mobile use."For more details, refer to [Options] > [Personal Information Settings] in the Online Help.
(Q12) What is the "POP3 email function"?
(A12) This is a function that allows you to use POP for receiving external email on Keio Mail. You can read email messages on the Web mail system, which is useful when the external email system does not provide a web mail service.
Unlike normal forwarding, you can receive messages only when you need to, which helps save on storage.
For more details, refer to [Options] > [POP3 settings] in the Online Help.Web
